To see the Wolverine in action

To escape the boredom of staying at home, my brother and I decided that we should get out of the house at least one time by ourselves. It was a good idea, music to my ears. Since my diploma course ended 3 months ago, and my bro's SPM last year, it WAS a good idea.

We decided to go for a movie at KLCC. Very convenient, easily accessible by LRT line. And who would've thought, that you could see A. Samad Said in front of your eyes, waiting for the LRT? Yes, he was there. My brother grabbed my shoulder and whispered," Is that A. Samad Said? ". It came as no surprise to my friend, whom has seen our beloved Malaysian poet almost everyday at the LRT station.

We booked our 1.45pm tickets to X-Men Origins: Wolverine. Wolverine is all raged up in this movie, I tell ya that! And a great pleasure to our eyes. Many X-Men legends made a cameo appearance there too! Gambit and Cyclops included!

Watch the movie, lots of action scenes, and you could capture a glimpse of your favorite X-Men characters, live on the silver screen. If they're there.... May not be satisfying to my eyes, but definitely worth watching.

My first job interview

Haven't been blogging these days due to my recent busy schedule of compiling my portfolio, designing my new name card design and letterhead that goes with it, currently working on my new website design, and ultimately, preparing for my first job interview, which was on Thursday, March 23rd last week.

The first thing that I had to do was to call the company as listed in the ad, saying I want to apply for the job position. This is to make sure I'm dealing with the right company. Then, they'll ask you to send your resume and coverletter (in most cases), and other things such as your portfolio, depending on what kind of job you're applying for by email.

Once I've done that, I waited for a call. Give them at least 4 days to reply, because they have to deal with numerous applicant resumes and documents. If you still haven't got a reply, just ring them up, see if they've received your email. In my case, I had to call them, and true enough, they have not seen my email and will call back. This shows how busy they are. Two hours later, I got a call from them, asking if I could come for an interview.

Wow, my first interview. So, I agreed.

I compiled all my documents, then I was off! My interview location was in Mid Valley, one of the NorthPoint offices. Pretty far, eh? But I went anyway, and its not a comfortable ride. One thing I've learned is that travelling there consumes a lot of my time. From the Wangsa Maju LRT station to Bangsar takes about 30 minutes tops. Then I had to wait for the free shuttle service to Mid Valley, again takes about at least 5 minutes. Once aboard the bus, another 15 minutes to fill it up with passengers. Guess its the perfect time for the driver to take a leak too.

Taking the bus to Mid Valley took about at least 2 minutes, which was better than I had expected. Upon reaching there, I looked at my watch. 1.15pm. Still darn early, for my appointment is around 3pm. So I loitered around till then.

At the appointed time, I've arrived at the office. I had to fill in some forms regarding my details and particulars. Then I hand in my photostated documents, and just wait till the interviewer call me in. I'm not going into details of my conversation with him, it's confidential. Haha. But I guess you just have to go with the flow.

And that's it! He thanked me for coming, and will let me know if I get the job or not. Pretty easy :) After that, I spent the next hour rewarding myself with some Burger King, then went home. So, if you're ever going to an interview, just think of the person as friend and more importantly, be yourself! Just remember to be polite and friendly.

And yeah, I got the job.

(Total journey time= 55 minutes)

Modi5x exhibition

As I have promised, the pictures!

Go to: http://www.modi5xbrand.blogspot.com/
I posted them there, as I am the one responsible for updating the blog..

With the exhibition now over, I have officially, and completely finished my diploma studies. I can start looking for a job. :)
However, my parents urged me to further my studies to a degree. Which is, not a bad idea "lar", since the industry prefers those with a degree cert... Haiz...

I hope that I'll be able to find a job soon, preferably freelance or part time. I'm fluent in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and Macromedia Flash. I do graphic design jobs involving promotion items, ads, stationery set, and web design. Any available jobs, email me, yeah? At cyber_egyj88@hotmail.com

Thx!
