This day has to be a marked day in my life's journal. After 2 years since it was released, I FOUND IT!! The very rare, Same Same album.
It is rare because it was released mostly in SouthEast Asian countries in 2006 such as Thailand, Philipines, Indonesia, and Malaysia. Most of us Malaysians never really known them because they were never mentioned in our broadcasting medias.
Now, who are these 2 people that I'm talking about?
Does the name "The Moffatts" ring any bells? If you were a fan of theirs in the late 90's, you'd probably would know who Bob and Clint is. Yup, they're the band. They're identical twins, so the name Same Same fits their description quite literally.
Do check out their Supermodel music video, and you'll see why am I talking about them:

Their song "Without You" featuring our very own, Jaclyn Victor:

My brother and I have been hunting for their album ever since we heard about it early last year.
From Mid Valley, to Jaya Jusco.....pain in the ass, this album. And finally today, by luck, we've found it. Where?
........at Carrefour Wangsa Maju. SHIT!!! @#!*!!
New, and final semester.
The final semester begins. Man! It's hard to believe that it has already been 2 years since I started here. How time flies...
I remember when I first came here. I was the ever-so-quiet English boy, very nervous about the whole new environment. In fact, I went there alone, without my high-school buddies. Brave thing I did, eh? Haha...
Ok! Reflection time. Hmm...let's see:
Indulged into a new community
What a shock to find everyone speaking Chinese and Cantonese. Oook, emm...acceptable. But it's kinda hard to interact with them. Thank you. If not for them, I wouldn't have improved my Chinese, at least a little. You know what they say: A little goes a long way.
Met new people
This has got to be the most memorable part of my journey. I don't know how I managed to communicate with them, since they're Chinese-ed, but I'm glad I did. And plus, my English is deteriorating... A few books should patch things up!
Learnt new things
As a result of 2 years studying at Dasein, I'm now familiar with the Mac OS operating software, graphic softwares Adobe Illustrator, InDesign and Photoshop, Flash 8 animation software, sketching real life pictures and figures, and many more. Oh! And a thing or two about having a crush on someone. Hehe...
I like my college. I love it very much, and I'm glad I studied here.
So now, in my final semester, I have a few more things to learn:
-Holding an exhibition
-Creating a new brand and promoting it
-Building a website
-Advanced English
-Doing TV Commercials
I really hope this time, I'll give it my best. Good luck my classmates!

Distress call at 8.30pm 30/9/08
Dad's phone rang
Dad (in Hokkien): Hello? Har? What's wrong with Ah Ba?
(silent for quite a while....)
Ok... (puts down the phone)
Dad: Hey, we have to go back tonight, Ah Kong is sick. (sounded sad)
A chill ran down my spine. What? Something wrong with Ah Kong?
...............
2 hours later, we're at grandparent's place. Everyone was there. Turns out that Ah Ma tried to wake Ah Kong up for dinner. But, he couldn't wake up. Like he's in a deep sleep, and 10% awake. He slept through the whole night right up to the next morning. Dad sent him to the hospital, along with my aunts and my cousin.
Hours later, results were out, and it turns out that Ah Kong's salt levels were very low. Thank God it wasn't something serious. He's ok now, discharged from the hospital and recovering fast.
A really, really close call.

A movie, and a coupla side adventures
What a day! It's already Monday, and there's still many people shopping for last minute Raya shopping. Haha... I guess there's still time, eh? It's not Raya yet.
This day has been fun. The 3 ex-Schoolketeers take on the day. Well, we're missing one though. Joel's busy...Leaving Tim and John with me.
Here's the thing: I checked the schedule for The Love Guru showtimes at TGV.com. 2.45pm? Cool.
Location? Should be KLCC, that's where we will go for movies. Then, at the LRT station, John asked, " So, we are riding to the Bangsar station....." WAIT!! Hold the brakes!! Bangsar station?! Stunned, he answered me," Huh? You didn't know?". Neither of them told me! Haha... " Dude, the movie is not shown today!" Hmm...come to think of it, I didn't see the location of that exact showtime...
" Ok, let's ride to KLCC and see if they're showing the movie or not.", John said. Ok, we went.
Then......
No Love Guru. Darn.
I can hear him in my head, "I'm gonna kill you!" Turns out that the movie showtime on the website was meant for Seberang Prai cinema.....What a waste of RM2 LRT trip.
So, we went to Mid Valley instead to catch the movie. Found a new way there: Wangsa Maju LRT to Bangsar, then free shuttle bus to Mid Valley.

Holiday starts, college stops (for awhile)
It's been ( 29 August - 14 Sept= 16days) 16 days since my last post. It's a Sunday, and I still feel drained from waking up early in the morning. Maybe I didn't nap in the afternoon, because I can't. Not that I force myself not to, but I just can't.
Went to Jaya Jusco, Wangsa Maju, again, after mass. This place is really starting to bore me as I've been coming here almost every Sunday. Probably since I was a kid, too. I lived in Wangsa Maju once, it's where I grew up. Now almost 17 years later, I have to put up with my small brother's nuisance of going to MPH Bookstore every Sunday in the shopping mall. -_-"' I'm going nuts here...
There's a new attraction for him today- arcade center. Spent about RM10 on tokens (RM1 for a token, can you believe it?!).
When we came home, I went straight to bath, then tried to take a nap. As I mentioned earlier, it didn't work. The problem with having a little brother is, you can't help to feel annoyed by him. Every little thing he does, it just seems to annoy me. I don't know why. I met a girl at some dinner event once a long time ago (There was no one to talk to), she also couldn't help to feel annoyed by her little brother. Strange, isn't it? Maybe there's a common and significant behavioral pattern to this ( It is possible, I don't know). XD

Avril Lavigne's concert rocks! (according to my friend)
Friday 29th August 2008, 8pm, the day of Avril Lavigne's concert in Kuala Lumpur, in Stadium Merdeka. Glorious day for us fans. I mean, how often can you see an international artist bringing the house down in front of your eyes?! How cool is that?!!
Who wouldn't want to see?
The performance near you, the glorious sound of the musical instruments, all perfectly tuned for optimum awesomeness, the international punk rock princess right in front of your eyes......
But there's only one disappointment...
.........
I wasn't there. Darn.
According to my friend, it was spectacular! Good. Not even PAS can stop it! Muahahaha!!!
I'm a big fan of Avril Lavigne too. Okay, maybe not that big. I got to know her when I was still in secondary school, I was around 13 years old and just starting to learn how to play the guitar. My tutor introduced me to Avril Lavigne, and I fell in love with her music ever since. That's also where my interest in punk rock and rock starts, and where I started listening to Green Day, Santana, Muse, etc. So she's kind of like a special artist to me. Haha!
So keep rocking on Avril!!

Avril Lavigne too sexy for Malaysia?
Yeap, you all heard and read about it in the news. The big headline of, " Avril Lavigne to be banned from performing in Malaysia for being too sexy, says PAS. ".
Is she really "too" sexy for us to bear? I understand about "rules and regulations" of the dressing code for women here by PAS, but come on..... She's a singer for goodness sake! International!
If that's the case, they ought to ban Jaclyn Victor or Ella too for being "too sexy".
They say she can perform but must be following certain rules. Okay, that's fine.
...
Can you imagine Avril performing in "baju kurung" with "tudung"? No, I'd rather not. Would you, dear fans?

Brother's birthday

My brother's birthday is 13th of August. It's on a Wednesday (thank goodness, not Friday, haha.). We decided to bring him for dinner at a newly "discovered" restaurant near my college, Pizza San Francisco. It's a cool place, the interiors are not bad as you can see in the photos. Made me feel like the time I was in Australia (though named San Francisco in America, it's the feeling you get when you're overseas.......oh, you get the point.). Thing is, the price of the food there is quite high. But we have been there before.
Why go again?
The reason is, the food! The food is amazing. Never tasted food this good anywhere else in Melawati. Of course there are other good restaurants in KL, but this is good enough. So with the high price, I'd say it was worth it.
Happy Birthday Bro!
Note of the day: Go to Pizza San Francisco near Wangsa Maju Carrefour and try! Oh, try the brownies, they're excellent! Just make sure you have enough cash in the wallet.

Mum's birthday

5th of August is my Mum's birthday.
If one of us have our birthdays, we would plan the rest of us make a birthday card. And who does the birthday cards? Well, the creative guy in the family, of course. And that guy is always me.
Why?
I'm in the art&design line, that's why. I would make the cards, then the four of us lay down our signatures. So, it's like "one for all and all for one" kind of thing. Haha.
Happy Birthday Mum!

Laptop dreaming....
Almost everyone in my class has a laptop. Until 3 weeks ago, it's not really that much of a necessary item for me to have, but then, it's beginning to feel important. One thing about me is, I dislike borrowing other people's things. Well, once in a while, it's alright.
But now, I want to ask for suggestions for the best laptop brand.
My required specs are:
-Intel Core 2 Duo
-2Gb RAM or more
- Big hard disk drive ( 120Gb and above)
- Graphic cards with at least 256Mb RAM
- Not to forget: cheap & affordable price
- Not Acer laptops, I heard they're quite lousy and had seen my friends suffering from its malfunctions.
Suggestions, anyone?

The Mummy and The Bat
Wow...yesterday was probably the best day of my life, watching 2 movies in one day! Nice....
The Mummy Tomb of the Dragon Emperor. Watched it on its opening day, how cool is that?! But alas, the movie wasn't that good. Just an average rate of 3/5....nice 3D effects though. My complaints: They shouldn't have replaced Rachel Weisz. Maria Bello looks older and pairing her up with Brendan Fraser isn't such a good idea. When you take away the original cast, it won't look good to me. No mummies here. The only mummy in sight is the Emperor (Jet Li), the rest...well, just terra cotta statues. But I liked the line," I hate mummies. They never play fair! "
The Dark Knight. Awesome! I have never seen the Joker this dark and heartless since Jack Nicholson played the role. The late Heath Ledger played the role much darker. Storyline a thumbs up, dialogues were realistic. Effects too! The new BatPod is cool, simple-looking, and incredibly fast! I wonder if exploding the building was real....didn't look like animation. 5/5 for this one. " Why so serious? Let's put a smile on that face! "
Note of the day: Met a new friend, a man in his 50s or 60s, in Borders bookstore. Was looking for someone to ask about learning musical instruments, and I happened to be there. Whoops! I'm not full-time musician, what am I doing there? Had quite a long chat about courses, music....even gave me his name card.
Hey, you will meet a new friend sometime, right?

Worst Day of My Life
To me, each and everyone's worst fear is learning the horrible truth about themselves. That's what happened to me.
We had another presentation today. A presentation of our annual reports, again in front of 3 lecturers. Heard they will ask many questions.
I entered the room, pumping with excitement. I went through with it, with no problem at all. I got to say what I wanted to say, that's it. It is after all the presentations when all efforts seem useless.
Our lecturer asked us to stay back and gather in the classroom. There, we are each given critiques (comments) of our presentations. Boy, that moment was the quietest in my whole college life. I was given the critique of having the attitude of an "arrogant-boss". That was the worst, and it shocked me. Was I being arrogant? I had no idea!
That really hit me hard. Even now, I'm wondering if I had been arrogant towards my friends... If I did, my friends, I'm very sorry.
Note of the day: When I was presenting, I didn't feel like I was myself. Felt like I was someone else.

Major Presentation Day 15:20
Day starts with me going to college to collect my presentation boards. I asked the printer on Saturday to print for me, and keep it till Monday. It was 12pm. 14 weeks of slaving in front of the computer, planning, drafting, and printing 110 pages of the Visual Identification Manual.....comes down to this moment.
3 more hours till presentation time. Went to the library to set up my presentation boards (displays). Gosh, I was sweating like a water fountain. Sticky tacks here, there.... Why in the world did I print 19 pieces of A3 displays?!
Some of my classmates presented in the morning shift. There were initially 4 lecturers aka. Board of Directors. I fear Ms, Shan Li the most, the fiercest of the 4. But when it came to the afternoon shift, 4 became 3. Guess they all couldn't make it.
1 hour till presentation time. Been hearing many stories from classmates about how the board seriously gave critiques about their work. They were advising me to watch out for the new lecturer, who is quite fierce in her critiques. This worries me even more. Not to mention that this will be our most important presentation yet.
Its time. The 3 came in (Shan Li was not present. Thank goodness.). Mr. Soo, Mr. Mark, and the new "unknown" lecturer came in with their smiles...... grim smiles. Brr.... First my pictures were taken, then........... I began.
I was quite nervous at first, but later, butterflies-in-the-stomach went away quickly. I got to say what I wanted to say, which was good. I think I spoke about 6-7 minutes (limit time=10min). The best part is, I get to answer their questions. Nothing is more satisfying than that. Of course there were critiques, but not that serious. As they walked out of the door, a wave of relief overwhelmed me..... Aaaaahh, satisfaction.
As I sat in the car, I looked out the window.
There, in the horizon, sunlight burst forth through the trees.....slowly getting brighter, as if to acknowledge my achievement. It was a beautiful evening, and the sky never looked better.

The "not-so"Incredible Hulk

First, year 2003 Hulk. Now, comes The Incredible Hulk. The trailer is already enough to set my excitement level to go over 200 bpm. The graphics are absolutely stunning, with more realistic texture on the mean, green monster himself, much better than the previous Hulk. Feel the action, the adrenaline, the new HULK!!
Then I went to see the movie, and that's where all my hopes and expectations came to a questionable halt. I'm not going to tell you the story, the trailer itself says it all. This new Hulk has it all; nice story, stunning CGI graphics and animation, and a promising battle of the titans. But I have to say, the film has a very raw feel.
When it comes to the battle of the titans, aka. the Hulk vs Abomination, it was too fast, resulting in a blur, which left me wondering what's going on. But above all, the Hulk doesn't look so powerful. What happened to him, the all-powerful Hulk in the comics?!
Ang Lee's Hulk has this interesting feature, where at certain point of time, one scene would pause, and like a comic book, the camera shifts to another picture ( next scene). Just like reading a comic book. When it comes to the new Hulk, it's just like watching another typical movie. Yes, the graphics are better and good storyline, but lacking the "uumph" that the 1st Hulk had.
To me, I'd rather watch the first Hulk.

Indy's back!
Finally! After 19 years, the 4th movie to the franchise has been added. Indiana Jones is back in Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystall Skull, donning a dark brown leather jacket, whip, and the famous ol' Indy hat that never leaves his side. This time round, it's not the Nazis anymore who are chasing him, it's the Russians. They are interested in a real-life artifact, the Incan crystal skulls. It is said that the skulls possess great powers, and made by aliens.
Firstly, I've been waiting this movie for quite some time after they announced that they're going to film a 4th Indy movie, so watching it has been a exciting time for me. The movie still has the Indy effect like when watching the previous films, but not as much sadly. I guess when u combine CGI and Indy, it doesn't match up so much, maybe a 80% compatibility.
Secondly, I'm very impressed by the way Harrison Ford retains his character as Indy. It is as though the hero never ages throughout the 19 years. Well, maybe he looks older, but once he dons the archeology suit, he looks as young as before. It is interesting also to see Marion Ravenwood from the 1st film with their son, Shia Lebouf as Mutt Williams, whom he never knew. Shia kicks ass this time, and not running around as in Transformers.
I'm glad I watched this movie, because I grew up watching Indy movies. It fills my satisfaction completely. I would definitely recommend it.

Another day of forgetfulness...
Shit! Left my pendrive in class, again. The last time it happened was last year, in the very same classroom. What I did the next day was I had to go to college early in the morning ( still dark, actually...about 8am ), ask the office administrator for the classroom key, and finally retrieve the small device.
And now, it happened again. History repeats itself. But I'm very lucky to have some friends to help me. Now, I just have to sit and wait........
I really hope I'm not troubling him...

Guess who?

I have nothing to do all week, except drawing, playing computer games, chatting, etc. This is starting to look pathetic to me. Anyway, just finished a sketch that I continued from yesterday, accumulated hours would be 2 hours to complete it.
Guess who it is? In scan, this sketch doesn't look very nice. The original piece is better. :)
Longest ride from Malacca, ever.
Went to Malacca on Saturday, come back to KL on Sunday (yesterday). Why? Cheng Beng. We do this every year for the past 13 years since my great grandmother died. Visiting her grave isn't as sorrowful as I think it would be. Instead, I feel a strange sense of calmness and comfort. I guess the whole family does too.
That's on the Sunday Morning.
In the evening, we had to go back to KL. It's on the way home that I experienced the longest-darn-journey in the history of all our "coming-backs". First, we had to stop our car because the fans cooling the engine malfunctioned, so the temperature shot up to boiling point. Secondly, we had to spend almost 2 hours hanging around in the petrol kiosk waiting for the car to be fixed. Thirdly, we had to spend another 4 hours in the darn traffic jam, which began from the Malacca toll all the way to Seremban. At that time I'm already feeling carsick. Sucks....
But all in all, it was a blessing in disguise to me. First, the car malfunctioned some 10 metres from the toll. It's a good thing we didn't stop anywhere further then that distance, or else we would be in trouble. Second, there's a petrol kiosk nearby, so we had shelter from the rain.
Reached home, went directly to my bed and zzzzzzzzzzz..........
Sucks....

Hello.....
First time in Blogger. I had a Friendster blog, but I think I'm abandoning it. Why? Seems to get boring seeing the same blog over, and over again. Well, here it is, my new blog site.
